Dahlonega Weather Forecast Update – Tuesday PM – *** More Rain then Pleasant Weekend ***

Good Tuesday afternoon everyone!

The rain coverage has certainly tapered off today as we await low pressure system number 2 to develop in the Gulf.  Also some drier air has worked in the mid levels which pretty much ate up the light precip that was supposed to fall today…at least ate up most of it.  But that will all change as an upper level low develops back in Texas and tracks across Arkansas and then Tennessee.  This will once again open up the moisture to spread north giving us another washout type of day on Wednesday.  The posted image shows where the upper level low should be come 7pm Wednesday.  The rain will continue into early Thursday AM until the low finally moves off to our east.  Also there is a slight chance of a few snow flurries for areas along and north of the spine of the Apps early on Thursday.  No big deal is expected though.

With that in mind here is the forecast.

Tonight (Tuesday)…cloudy with scattered showers and more widespread rain developing.  Low in the mid 40s.

Wednesday…cloudy with east winds increasing during the afternoon with 1-2 inches of additional rain.  Temps steady or falling into the low 40s.

Wednesday night…rain continues and east winds could gust to near 20-30mph at times.  Low in the upper 30s.

Thursday…a few showers possible early then clearing later in the afternoon.  High in the low to mid 40s.

Thursday night…breezy and colder with a low near 30.

Friday…partly cloudy with a high in the mid to upper 50s.

Saturday…partly cloudy with a high near 60.

Sunday…partly cloudy with a high in the low 60s.

Thanks for reading and enjoy the chilly rain!
