Dahlonega Weather Forecast Update – Monday PM – *** Rain, Rain and Rain ***

Good Monday afternoon everyone!

What a raw, chilly and rainy day we have this Monday.  As of 3pm I’ve recorded 1.80 inches so far with this system.  As the rain continues through tonight and into Tuesday expect another 1-2 inches.  This is all from low pressure area number 1.   As low pressure area number 1 moves out tomorrow, the rain should taper off but unfortunately the cold front isn’t really going to clear the area which will set the stage for low pressure area number 2 to develop on Wednesday.  That means more rain Wednesday afternoon into parts of Thursday before we finally clear things out on Friday.

The posted image is just one models potential for rain amounts with system number 2.  This is on top of the current drenching that will not end until late Tuesday.  So for that reason the National Weather Service has placed us under a flood watch.  So if your in a low lying area pay attention to water levels in the streams around your vicinity.

I’m not really going to focus on temps as the main story is the just the rain.  Between now and Thursday afternoon the only prolonged break in the action might be late Tuesday into the first half of Wednesday.  So keep your umbrella handy and jacket handy and welcome to typical north GA fall/winter weather.

I will say this though…Friday, Saturday and Sunday just might turn out pretty decent (cross your fingers).
