Dahlonega Weather Forecast Update Thursday

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

It’s just about perfect fall weather out there with crisp temps and blue skies.   For the most part temps have averaged below normal over the past few weeks and that trend will continue into next week.  We couldn’t ask for better weather this Thanksgiving with clear blue skies and highs in the upper 50s.

Up next weather wise is a cold front slated to push through Saturday morning.  That will bring about another chance of rain starting late Friday into the first part of Saturday.  Timing of the rain start is important Friday as we have the Christmas parade and town tree lighting.  Best guess right now is for drizzle to break out sometime between 5-7pm on Friday and then only increase as we head throughout the night.  Higher elevations up in the mountains will likely start the drizzle fest sooner.   I steady east wind on Friday will also hold down the temps with highs only in the mid 40s at best….more than likely it will be colder than that.  There is also a slight chance of patchy freezing rain Friday night but I’m not expecting any travel issues as it should be more of a novelty if anything.

Rain moves out during the AM hours on Saturday and leaves us with highs in the mid to upper 50s.

Then our next cold front starts to approach late Sunday entering another chance of rain late Sunday afternoon into Sunday night.  Then the cold front should clear the area early Monday leaving us with chilly highs in the 40s for Monday thru Wednesday.

Thanks for reading and don’t eat too much!
