*** Special Weather Statement ***

From the National Weather Service.

…Majority Of Significant Smoke To Remain Over Far North Georgia Today…

A Southerly Wind Component Ahead Of A Frontal Boundary Will Allow For The Most Significant Smoke To Remain Closer To The Fire Sources Over Far North Georgia Today And Outside Of The Major Metropolitan Areas. However…Winds Will Be Shifting To The Northwest Quickly Late Tonight And Into Saturday Morning Along And Behind The Cold Front. This Will Bring The Smoke Of Far North Georgia Well South To Affect Most Of The Forecast Area.

In Addition…Winds Will Be Increasing To 15 To 25 Mph With Higher Gusts. This Will Increase The Fire Danger Threat Across The Area.

It Will Extremely Easy For Even Small Fires To Escalate In Scope In A Rapid Manner. Please Continue To Adhere To Local And State Fire Bans.
