Summer time temps are upon us as well as the humidity. Personally I don’t mind it as winter seemed to drag on and on this year. An upper level ridge of high pressure has been our dominate feature this past week giving us mostly dry weather and temps way above normal. Normal is about 77 for this time of the year.
We have one more day of this dominating ridge and heat before it gets replaced with an upper level low pressure area that will park itself over the southeast for pretty much the rest of the week. What that means for us is above normal rain chances, higher humidity and lower temps. And all this starts on Tuesday lasting into the weekend. While it won’t be a total wash out everyday, you can expect at least a 50-60 percent chance of rain Tuesday thru Saturday. Some will be in the form of showers and some in the form of thunderstorms with the juicy air mass.
At this time exact timing of high chance rain periods will be difficult to nail down outside of 24 hours as it will be mostly driven by heating of the day and small impulses of energy in the upper levels. So each day will be a wait and see as to where the action will focus.
Expect lows in the low 60s and highs in the upper 70s each day Tuesday through Saturday. But before that we have another day in the upper 80s on Monday.
Enjoy!
Jason
Thanks Jason. I agree the warmer temps have been nice but we could use the rain. Have a great week.
Nothing severe I hope. We do need the rain but def not looking fwd to a week of it. Missed your updates! Welcome back!
🙏🏻Prayers for a beautiful Friday afternoon/evening for the high school graduation.
Have missed hearing from you – the rain and lower temperatures will be a very welcome relief this week! What happened to spring?
Thanks Jason.
Thanks. Garden will love it 😊
Awe man. Gonna mess up the kids field days!!
Thanks for the update! Happy for some rain on the garden – don’t like dragging those water hoses around. ☔
Thanks jason
My husband and I just moved to Dahlonega and this is very welcome information, thank you.
Give me winter
Where’s all this rain we’re supposed to be getting
Happening as expected. 1.25 inches so far with plenty of scattered showers. Never was supposed to rain all day long every day
Over in the Claud Parks road area there certainly hasn’t been anywhere near 1.25 inches. A little shower and drizzle/sprinkles.
Guess your area has been unlucky this week. It’s not over yet as rain chances stay above normal through the weekend.
Dahlonega Weather ,there’s been very little on the radar
Jack A. Travis well then I guess I’m the only one that got that rain.
