Dahlonega Weather Forecast Friday Update… *** Sunny then Rain ***

We have a chilly start to our Friday with many readings at or below freezing.  Things will warm up quickly into the mid to upper 60s with plenty of sunshine.

Our next weather maker will be an upper low pressure system that is currently located back in Northwest Arizona.  That low will slide almost due east across the county and start to affect our weather on Sunday.  At the same time High pressure that is currently centered across southern Wisconsin will slide east into the PA/NY area.  This will allow the High pressure to start to wedge down the eastern side of the Apps come Sunday into early next week.  That means gusty winds out of the east combined with plenty of rain and clouds and fog at times.  Oh…and cooler temps.  I’m sure you were rooting for that last one.

With that in mind here are the detail…

Today (Friday)…sunny with a high in the mid to upper 60s.

Saturday…sunny with an east wind breeze and a high in the upper 60s after a morning low in the low 40s.

Sunday…mostly cloudy if not just cloudy with east winds increasing with gusts 20+mph.  Rain chances are 30 percent before lunch and 60 percent during the afternoon hours.  The later in the day the higher the chance of rain because we are going to get a lot of it Sunday night.  It’s just a matter of timing on when it starts to move in.  Expect temps to remain in the 50s.

Monday…cloudy and rainy and breezy and cool with a high in the 50s.

On thing to note is that I would not be surprised if we end up under some sort of wind advisory for late Sunday or Sunday night.  Sunday night has the chance of seeing gusts over 30 with higher winds above 2500 feet.

Enjoy your day!

Jason
