Dahlonega Weather Severe Threat

Good Monday morning!

I’ve been getting questions about the potential severe weather threat for today, Monday.

Right now the day time period is looking fine regarding severe weather with just scattered showers expected.

Out Severe threat arrives tonight between 9-11p in the form of a line of thunderstorms.

Strong wind and hail will be the biggest risk with the isolated chance of a tornado.

Now speaking of tornadoes, the largest threat for that should remain off to our west but we still need to monitor this closely.

One thing on our side is a weak wedge with winds out of the East. This tends to weaken storms as they cross the mountains from Dalton to Dahlonega.

Either way the situation needs to be watched and updates will come as needed.
