Happy Tuesday everyone!
Less humid air has arrived so enjoy the humidity break for a bit. We get two absolutely gorgeous days today and tomorrow before more rain and then much colder weather arrives.
An area of low pressure will spin up the Mississippi valley come Thursday pulling in plenty of moisture and rain across our area. As that low spins off to the north an upper level low will develop across Missouri and track towards the east across Tennessee. This will bring in much colder air on Friday along with wrap around showers. All in all Friday is going to feel quite chilly compared to what we have been experiencing. Also it will be windy at times starting on Thursday and lasting into Saturday. The good news is the weekend should be dry but cooler.
Thanks for reading!

Wow your forecast is much cooler than the NWS. They are saying 60 on Fri and you are saying 50 ?
In theory they will be correct because just after midnight Thursday night it will probably be 60. But it should be near 50 by sunrise and shouldn’t go up during the day. Latest EURO actually keeps us in the 40s all day
Dahlonega Weather Do you ever recall it being in the 40s during the daytime in May ? That would be at least 25 degrees below average wouldnt it ?
In 1992 we had a high of only 48 on May 9th. That’s the only day with a high only in the 40s. Currently both the GFS and EURO have us getting close to breaking that monthly record but it’s still 72 hours out and will likely change.
looks like that was right after North Carolina got that freak May snowstorm where some of the higher peaks got several feet of snow? – Tim .
Judy Kinser Powell I forgot about that. So I did a quick Google search and it was at the same time. That cold pool was from an upper level low as well be this one.
They lowered the high on Fri to 56.
