Here comes the front along with the heavier rain.  I can’t wait for the weather this week.  Movement is towards the East.

With a low of 67.9, Dahlonega set a record warm low temp for this date.  The old record was 65 set back in 1919.

On Monday October 9th our low temp was 70.1.  That broke the record for the warmest low temperature for the date.  The old record warm low was 67 set back in 1936.

And if we don’t dip below 65 before midnight tonight we will set another record for today’s date.

Very heavy rain is knocking on the door.  Winds could get gusty with this batch.  Movement is due north.

A few heavy showers have popped up and are moving towards the SSE.  These should clear out quickly leading to a fantastic weekend. 

Some heavy showers have popped up north of town.  They are slowly drifting south.

I light of our recent tropical weather I’ve been asked several times about the super strong hurricane Maria.  Maria is currently packing 175 mph winds and is tracking NW towards Puerto Rico.  Pray for them tonight because they are going to take a direct hit and experience catastrophic destruction.  It’s not going to be good. 

Maria should not have any impact on our weather and more than likely no one on the U.S. mainland.  Maria is going to curve north and then Northeast and head out into the northern Atlantic and start to weaken.  

So the only preparation we need is to pray for Puerto Rico.
