The National Weather Service in Peachtree City has issued a Wind Advisory, which is in effect from 8 AM to 8 PM EDT Thursday. * Locations...Portions of north Georgia, general along and north of a line from Carrollton to Homer. * Winds...Southeast to south 15 to 25 MPH with gusts of 30 to 40 MPH. * Timing...From 8 AM until 8 PM EDT Thursday. * Impacts...Strong winds will bring down large tree limbs and some weaker trees, especially with the saturated soils. Unsecured outdoor items may be blown around and driving may be difficult, especially for high-profile vehicles. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... A Wind Advisory means that sustained winds of 20 mph or higher and wind gusts of 35 MPH or greater are expected. Winds this strong can bring down large limbs and even whole weak or dead trees as well as make driving difficult, especially for high- profile vehicles. Use extra caution.

Higher elevations tend to get the higher winds. So about 2000 feet could be stronger.
